Internet Explorer will normally attempt to detect the program
originally used to create a HTML document and modify the "Edit"
option to use the same program for future editing. This tweak can
be used to enable or disable the checking.
- To open the Registry Editor click on the Start button on
your taskbar, then click on Run and type "regedit"
and click on OK to start the utility.
- Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main (see picture 1).

called "CheckDocumentForProgID" and set it according to the

Explorer to use the default editor for all editing.
